Product Description
MET WAY lubricants are proven performance machine tool slideway lubricant, designed to reduce friction and drag, stick-slip and machine tool chatter. When the
heavy tooling of a machine tool slides along its supporting ways, a smooth and uninterrupted motion must be maintained. If sticking occurs, poor surface finish and
dimensional variation in the workpiece can result. The special mild EP additives along with robust tackiness additives provide a tough, thick oil film that lowers the
friction between the carriage and the slide ways while the tool is stationary and prevents the carriage from surging forward as the feed begins and enables accurate
table positioning.
MET WAY lubricants are low sulfur, low acid way lubricant that resists emulsification and provides superior coolant compatibility. Water soluble oils and
synthetic coolants often become contaminated with way oils containing high levels of sulfur and fatty acids are particularly detrimental to water-based coolants. The
sulfur is a nutrient for water-borne bacteria and is the source of "rotten egg" odor associated with coolants along with the Fatty acids that act as emulsifiers and tie
up coolant in tramp oil, which results in increased coolant consumption and disposal costs.
